Vegan Hot Honey Popcorn
Equipment
- Large pot with lid or air popper
- Wooden spoon or heat-resistant spatula
- Large mixing bowl

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels or ~10 cups air-popped popcorn
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or avocado oil
- 1/4 cup vegan hot honey or agave
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
- 1/2 tsp sea salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
Instructions
Pop the popcorn:
- If using a pot: Heat the oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add 3–4 popcorn kernels and cover. When they pop, add the rest of the kernels, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows.
- If using an air popper: Pop according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prepare the hot honey:
- In a bowl, mix the vegan hot honey with the melted oil or butter. Stir in cayenne pepper and salt if using.
- Once combined, add the baking soda and stir until it foams up.
Coat the popcorn:
- Transfer popcorn to a large mixing bowl. Pour the hot honey mixture over the popcorn while stirring gently to coat evenly.
Bake:
- Spread onto baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes.
