- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels or ~10 cups air-popped popcorn
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or avocado oil
- 1/4 cup vegan hot honey or agave
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
- 1/2 tsp sea salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
Pop the popcorn:
If using a pot: Heat the oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add 3–4 popcorn kernels and cover. When they pop, add the rest of the kernels, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows.
If using an air popper: Pop according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prepare the hot honey:
In a bowl, mix the vegan hot honey with the melted oil or butter. Stir in cayenne pepper and salt if using.
Once combined, add the baking soda and stir until it foams up.
