This delicious, crunchy, meaty bacon is made with protein from red seaweed, with a black pepper kick! You’ll want to cook it until it blisters to get the best texture.
Cooking Directions –
Set heat to low-medium.
Heat a small amount of neutral cooking oil.
Cook each side of the bacon for about 1 – 2 minutes. The bacon will burn easily if the heat is too high, so please use low-medium heat for this cooking method. Also, we find it best to use a bacon press (or any type of cast iron press) on top of the bacon to ensure even cooking.
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Once heated, cook the bacon strips for 3 – 4 minutes on a metal sheet tray.
When ready, the bacon should have visible bubbles on the surface, and the outer corners should be crispy to the touch. The outer edges should also be a bit darker/slightly caramelized than the center of the strip.
This product is wrapped in-house.

      Hi Mike! The Umaro Black Pepper bacon is actually shelf stable, no refrigeration or freezing necessary! It has a nice long shelf life as well. We do not recommend freezing this product as it can change the texture.

    Fun to sample but (unlike when I used to eat real bacon) I’m not fighting off the urge to stuff 2 or 3 or 10 of these into my face in one sitting.

    I would suggest offering these in smaller packages. Ended up chopping half of them into bacon bits, which made them feel less greasy and stiff.

    This black pepper bacon is so yummy! I had to hide it from my family, otherwise they would have eaten them in a day. Taste like real bacon, it reminded me to my childhood in Hungary. My cousin used to have a smoke house, and it tasted like one of those pepper bacon he used to make.
