SHIPPING & PICKUP - WEBSITE ORDERS

Shipping perishable, small batch foods requires insulated liners, gel packs, and fast transit to maintain cold chain integrity. UPS shipping rates are determined by distance, weight, box size, fuel costs, weather, and other factors outside our control. We pass our negotiated UPS discounts directly to customers and also subsidize part of the packaging cost by offering deeply discounted liners and gel packs.

Because our products are crafted by independent artisans using premium ingredients and sustainable practices, temperature controlled shipping is essential to ensure your order arrives fresh and safe.

Orders ship Monday through Wednesday each week. This ensures timely delivery and maintains product integrity. Orders placed after our weekly cutoff ship the following week. We ship throughout the Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. During warmer seasons, insulated coolers and additional cold packs may be used to protect perishable items.

No. UPS cannot deliver refrigerated packages to P O Boxes. A physical street address is required.

Yes. Website order pickup is by appointment only with at least 24 hours notice.

UPS Ground, Next Day Air and 2 Day Air guarantee

UPS considers Ground, Next Day Air and 2 Day Air to be time in transit services, not absolute delivery guarantees. Customers pay for faster routing and priority handling, not certainty.

What does UPS Next Day Air mean
UPS states this service aims to deliver by the next business day at the published time for the destination address. Delivery times are best effort and not guaranteed during periods when the UPS Service Guarantee is suspended.

What does UPS 2 Day Air mean
UPS states this service aims to deliver within two business days. Like Next Day Air, this is a best effort commitment and not a guaranteed delivery promise.

When is the UPS Service Guarantee suspended
UPS may suspend its Service Guarantee during peak holiday periods, severe weather, labor constraints, or other operational disruptions. This typically occurs from late November through December each year.

What happens when the guarantee is suspended
During suspension periods:
• Delivery estimates are non binding
• Late deliveries are not eligible for UPS refunds
• Transit delays do not qualify for credits

What will UPS refund or credit
UPS only issues credits for:
• Packages officially declared lost
• Packages damaged in transit
• Spoilage claims if the shipper purchased perishables coverage and all UPS conditions are met

UPS does not refund shipping charges for late delivery when the guarantee is suspended, even for air services.

Carrier Delay Protection provided at checkout gives customers the ability to receive an immediate refund without having to file a claim or navigate the UPS claims process. It covers product spoilage caused by carrier transit delays. Our insulated packaging system is engineered to maintain product quality and often supports Friday or Saturday deliveries. This protection most often applies when a shipment remains in transit through the weekend and ice packs arrive no longer cold to the touch. When eligible, The Vreamery issues an immediate refund based on product condition, not transit time or delivery speed.

We will accommodate change or cancellation requests when possible. Once an order has been packed or shipped, changes are not feasible. Cancelled orders may incur a three percent processing fee.

Contact us as quickly as possible. If the order has not shipped, we can update the address. If it has already departed, UPS may charge rerouting fees.

UPS tracking is provided once the package is scanned at our warehouse. You will receive email updates from pickup through delivery.

If gel packs are melted and still cool to the touch, items are safe. Our packaging protects products for over 48 hours and often up to 72 hours. If the ice packs are warm please email us immediately upon receipt at [email protected]

You must contact UPS directly to file a claim. We recommend photographing the shipping box, insulation, and the product, including a temperature reading if possible. You are welcome to copy us on any correspondence with UPS, and we will assist where we can.

All sales are final due to the perishable nature of our products.

No. Taste is subjective and food safety laws prohibit reselling returned items.

CHEESE CARE AND HANDLING

All cheeses include an expiration date. If a cheese is labeled freezable [check website], shelf life can be extended by returning it to the freezer upon receipt. Most cheeses are best enjoyed within one week of opening unless otherwise noted.

Refrigerate all vegan cheeses upon arrival. Freezable cheeses may be refrozen, while meltable starch based cheeses may remain in their original packaging. Cultured and aged cheeses should be wrapped in parchment or wax paper to allow airflow. Once opened, rewrap cheeses and store in a sealed container. Keep spreads and sauces in airtight containers and enjoy within a few days for best flavor and texture. Refer to the product label for expiration dates.

Many nut based cheeses freeze extremely well, especially blocks, wheels, and spreads without delicate rinds. Starch based cheeses generally do not freeze well unless intended for melting. To help guide your choices, our website includes a Freezable filter that identifies cheeses that maintain quality after freezing. Thaw frozen cheeses slowly in the refrigerator and enjoy within a few days. Freezable cheeses may be refrozen. Otherwise, refrigerate all vegan cheeses upon arrival. Cultured and aged cheeses should be wrapped in parchment or wax paper to allow airflow, while meltable starch based cheeses may remain in their original packaging. Once opened, rewrap cheeses and store in a sealed container. Keep spreads and sauces in airtight containers and refer to the product label for expiration dates.

Thaw slowly in the refrigerator. Rapid thawing can cause texture changes. Once thawed, enjoy within a few days.

Most vegan cheeses do not use traditional dairy molds. If mold appears on a cheese not intended to be mold ripened, discard it. Rind ripened cheeses with intentional white or blue cultures will be clearly noted on their product page. When in doubt, reach out and we can confirm.

Plant based cheeses can release a small amount of natural oils or develop slight dryness, especially aged or cultured styles. Blot excess oil or trim a thin surface layer. This is normal and does not affect quality.

Some styles soften during transit. As long as the package arrives within the expected transit window and cold packs are still partially cool, refrigerate the items and they will reset. Contact us with any concerns and we will take care of you.

Yes. For short trips, use an insulated bag with a small ice pack. For longer travel, refrigerate the cheese until departure and use multiple cold sources. Aged or cultured blocks travel better than delicate spreads.

Each product page lists maker provided ingredients. Many artisan makers are small batch and not required to provide full nutritional panels. If you need detailed information, reach out to the maker directly or contact us and we can help connect you.

CHEESE PREPARATION AND SERVING

Up to two hours is safe at room temperature. If kept on ice packs or a cold surface, cheeses may remain out for up to four hours.

 
 

How do I cut or serve artisan vegan cheese

Use gentle heat and steam. Grating or slicing finely improves melt.

Rinds protect the cheese and develop flavor. Most are edible unless stated otherwise.
