Miyoko Schinner Returns to Her Roots

Paso Robles, CA — 8.28.2025 — She redefined dairy. She built a global brand. Now, Miyoko Schinner, the powerhouse behind the plant-based cheese revolution, is back with a stunning new cookbook, The Vegan Creamery. She will appear at two rare, intimate events on Sunday, September 21, 2025, hosted by The Vreamery Artisan Vegan Cheese Company. The Vreamery is the largest curated marketplace for artisan vegan cheese in the U.S., based on vendor variety and national delivery scope.

This event marks the first time Schinner has returned to a small-scale venue since stepping down from her namesake brand. It is also the first official collaboration between Miyoko and a business directly inspired by her groundbreaking book Artisan Vegan Cheese.

 

Event One: VIP Experience at The Vreamery

The first gathering takes place at The Vreamery in Paso Robles. It offers guests a rare, close-up moment with Miyoko Schinner, whose pioneering work lit the spark that became The Vreamery.

Long before plant-based became mainstream, founder Jennifer Golden discovered Miyoko’s first book and began experimenting with handcrafted cheeses in her home kitchen. That passion later evolved into The Vreamery, now a national leader in artisan vegan cheese.

This VIP event includes intimate conversation, grazing-table tastings from The Vegan Creamery, and a curated gift bag to take home.

 

Event Two: Sanctuary Celebration at Freedom Farms

The second event takes place at the historic Hollywood ranch once home to Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. The estate is now transformed into Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary, a haven for rescued animals.

Led by Dr. Marilyn Kroplick, President of In Defense of Animals, the sanctuary provides a home where rescued cows, horses, deer, ducks, and peacocks roam freely. Guests will enjoy Miyoko’s keynote talk, a personalized book signing, a guided tour of the sanctuary, and curated vegan gifts.

A Day of Cheese, Community, and Compassion

These special events highlight three interconnected values: culinary craft, community connection, and compassion for animals. Together, they show how food can tell a story and serve a cause.
